FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are VYRA garments medical-grade?

No — and we want to be precise about that. VYRA BODY garments are high-compression shapewear. They are not classified as FDA-cleared medical devices. What we can tell you is exactly how they're made: 45% spandex / 55% nylon compression fabric with powernet panels, steel boning, and multi-row adjustable hooks, produced in ISO-audited, BSCI-compliant, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified facilities. Wear them on the schedule your surgeon gives you.

When do I start wearing my Stage 1 garment after surgery?

Follow your surgeon's exact instructions. Most surgeons fit a compression garment in the operating room and have you transition to your purchased Stage 1 faja within 24–72 hours. Do not change garments without your surgeon's clearance.

How many hours per day should I wear it?

Your surgeon sets your schedule — always follow it over anything you read here. As general industry context, Stage 1 protocols commonly land in the 18–23 hours/day range for the first 4 weeks, Stage 2 in the 12–18 hour range, and Stage 3 at 6–10 hours or as preferred. Our garments are built to hold up to that kind of wear. See our Recovery Stage Guide.

How do I wash my faja?

Hand wash with cold water and a gentle detergent, no bleach. Air dry only — never use a dryer. We recommend having two garments so you can rotate while one dries. Full instructions on our Care Instructions page.

What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2?

Stage 1 garments are maximum compression with steel bones, full double-layer construction, and adjustable hooks — built for weeks 0–4 post-op. Stage 2 garments are lighter and more breathable, designed for weeks 4–8 and daily wear. Full breakdown here.

Can I exchange a faja if it doesn't fit?

Yes — if it's unopened and within 30 days of delivery. Once a garment is removed from its sealed packaging it cannot be exchanged or returned, for hygiene reasons. See our Refund Policy.

Where is VYRA manufactured?

Our garments are produced in OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, ISO-audited, BSCI-compliant facilities to VYRA BODY's own specifications. We're based in the United States; manufacturing is overseas, in those certified facilities.
